Not sheets. Requires rolling out to use. Ingredients: Organic wholemeal spelt flour, organic white spelt flour, sea salt, non-hydrogenated palm-oil, water added.
Savoury Vegetarian Sausage Rolls
1 medium onion – finely chopped
¾ cup nuts (brazil &/or almond &/or cashew) – finely chopped
2 cups quark or cottage cheese
1 tsp crushed garlic
2 tsp Italian mixed herbs
2 cups rolled oats
¼ cup savoury yeast flakes
¼ cup olive oil
3 eggs – slightly beaten
1 cup dry breadcrumbs
2 tblsp soy sauce
2 tblsp bbq sauce
Puff pastry of your choice (spelt – roll yourself, or store-bought ready rolled)
Sesame or chia seeds – for decoration (optional)
Mix all ingredients together in large bowl.
If using the store-bought ready rolled puff pastry, cut the sheet in half. Spoon mixture along the full length of the cut piece of rolled puff pastry – around the same thickness as a sausage. Roll up and cut to into one-inch pieces. Brush with soy/cows/other milk and sprinkle with seeds of choice, if desired.
Bake for 20-25 minutes in moderate oven (180 degrees C) until golden.
