Description
Lemons are an excellent source of vitamin C and are commonly used in cooking, squeezed over seafood, sliced into drinks and made into lemonade. Organic citrus do not have a wax/fungicide protective layer on their skin. This is great to be free of chemicals, but also means that you need to keep them in the fridge because they WILL spoil in a fruit bowl at room temperature. Did you know? The exact origin of lemons is unclear; they may have originated in the Punjab region of Pakistan and India. Lemon trees were introduced to Australia on the ships of the First Fleet in 1788. The trees camefrom Cape Town, South Africa and were planted within days of the fleet’s arrival.
